its inception, Peninsula Papagayo was envisioned as a luxury destination that would play a leading role in empowering nearby communities to achieve a sustainable future for themselves and their children. This commitment began in 2001 with the creation of a pioneering Community Relations Program, Creciendo Juntos/Growing Together, as part of the Developer's Social Responsibility Philosophy.

The mission of Creciendo Juntos is to contribute to the development of nearby communities through education and to facilitate their involvement in the opportunities generated by tourism. Emphasis is in four arenas that are key to fostering the Guanacaste region: formal education, informal education, leadership and organizational development, and reinforcement of traditions and cultural values.

Over its first seven years, the Peninsula Papagayo Community Relations Program has been a tremendous success and made a permanent difference in the lives of many. To date, participation exceeds 182,000 and benefits members of 19 local communities, from youngsters to seniors. Creciendo Juntos is just one way Peninsula Papagayo is reaching out to create new opportunities for residents of Guanacaste.
